Date: November 2025
Purpose:
To clarify the rights and obligations of members and guests regarding loud snoring, loud CPAP machines or other factors which may disrupt the sleep of roommates.
Considerations:
The Committees need to balance these considerations
- We aim to facilitate as many members staying at the lodge as possible at times of high demand.
- Members should be able to expect a good night’s sleep when sharing with others.
- Accommodation rates are based on most beds in a room being occupied.
- We need to provide a way for members to stay even if they snore loudly, use a loud CPAP machine or otherwise disrupt roommates’ sleep.
Policy:
- If a snorer or CPAP user cannot share a room, they must pay for single occupancy at the same rate. The inability to share a room may be judged by the member, or by the booking officer based on feedback from others.
- Single occupancy for this purpose comes out of the same limited allocation as other exclusive single occupancy.*
- No exclusive single occupancy will be allowed on race weekend.
- The booking officer may relax these conditions at times of lower demand.
Review:
This policy is subject to Committee review from time to time.
Note: * As of 2025, exclusive single occupancy is only permitted for a total of 3 rooms at a time, specifically Rooms 6, 8 and 11. Refer to Booking policy on Exclusive single use (singles booking a room to themselves).
